Von Braun Astronomical Society to host cleanup day Sept. 8 at Planetarium

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Von Braun Astronomical Society (VBAS) invites you to help with a cleanup event on Saturday, September 8, 2018.  It will be at the Wernher von Braun Planetarium, located in Monte Sano State Park.

Start time: 8:30 a.m. All are welcome, and you can stay as long as you’d like, ‘until you want to quit.’

Type of Volunteer Work: painting, cleaning, misc yard work, moving gravel with wheelbarrow

Clothing: anything comfortable for you that you don’t mind getting dirty

Notes:

1. When you enter the park please tell the gate guard you are going to the planetarium and they will waive the $5 park entrance fee
2. Park in the area identified and walk down the path to the facility
3. There will be a VBAS volunteer there to answer any questions and provide guidance as needed
4. VBAS will provide tools/supplies, water for hydration and lite snacks; bring your own lunch
